Too often we have seen customers having capping boards fitted over existing timber fascias rather than having the old timber completely removed and replaced with UPVC fascias. This may seem the more cost effective option in the short term, but long term it will prove to be a false economy. The rotten wood hasn't gone anywhere; it is still there, deteriorating even more each year. Eventually the nails will come loose due to rotted and infested wood, leaving your fascias exposed and unsecured.

Fascia In need of Attention

The streaking on the felt shows that the felt edge under the tiles has probably perished and needs replacing - the felt is there to ensure rainwater sheds off the roof into the guttering. Once damaged, it won't be doing it's job!

Do the Job Right

All old timber/asbestos is taken off, and the perished felt is cut back. It is cheaper to just cover over the old wood, but this would produce a low-quality finish and is likely to cause extra rot in the future.

Replace Roof Timbers

Roof timbers are rarely perfect, especially old ones. You don't want to pay twice, so we do it right first time. Fixing new fascias and soffits direct to the existing timbers would lead to a poor quality finish.

Skilled Tradesmen

Using plumblines and upvc 'sprockets', our skilled tradesmen ensure that the supports for the new fascias and soffits are mechanically sound and perfectly in line.

Over-Fascia Ventilation

We use an 'over-fascia' ventilation system which replaces damaged felt edge and will not rot again. the 'comb' stops birds getting under tiles and ventilation meets Building Regulations without needing vents in the soffits.

Safety & Access

To minimise inconvenience and provide a safe work environment, we use Easi-Dec scaffolding system where possible, which is quickly assembled, suits most properties & avoids security worries of leaving normal scaffolding around a property.

Finished Job

No vents in our soffit makes for a neater finish, as does the lack of sealant on the brick line - we take the time and trouble to fit precisely to the brickwork. Daylight is also showing between the gutter and fascia of next door.
